For Valentines Day 2024 I co-wrote a song with JL Fulks which I named Orange Tree Love for my beautiful wife. The gist of the song’s meaning is that I had a frustrating time finding the right person for me and I used the analogy of me being an Orange Tree and all my female companions wanted apples. I tried and tried and tried to make apples but they always came up oranges they weren’t happy and I wasn’t happy trying to be something I’m not. Then between relationships I prayed earnestly for God to send someone to love me for who I am and He sent me my Pixie and life changed for me. I found that love wasn’t hard, love is easy when you meet a girl that likes to take the time to peel an orange. Oranges are far from a perfect fruit, it takes work to peel, get that white stuff off and sometimes spit out the seeds, but my girl loves to take the time to do those things and even (sometimes) find my faults and weaknesses endearing. That’s true love, when you see the faults of the one you love and say to yourself, that’s just adorable and help them through it, you have found your person.
