Love Letters in Retrospect
Its so important in any relationship that you find your loved ones love language whether it is yours or not and feed love to them the way THEY need it and not necessarily the way you need it. You could be struggling buying your spouse gifts and sure they appreciate it, but they could still feel unloved because they receive love through a touch, holding hands or maybe they would love to sit in bed talking about their day and would love to hear about yours. Maybe doing little special things for them like making them a Pumpkin Latte on a cold night without being asked. Perhaps recognizing reasons you love them and giving them positive words and compliments is how they receive love. They aren’t you, so it is VERY important that you find your spouses love language. There is a test you and your spouse can take online called, The Five Love Languages test, it will ask you questions, and based your answers it can determine what your love language is. Once you know and understand your spouse’s love language you both have a leg up on your relationship and you no longer have to struggle to show each other how much you love each other. I discovered that words of affirmation and quality time are two important ways to show my beautiful wife love, and it is one of mine as well so we decided to take a blue bound notebook and trade it back and forth writing each other love letters.
Go back and read and reflect with me some of our letters to each other straight from our “Book of Love”.

You just left on a visit with aunt Cathy. I’m thinking about you at 2:04pm and missing you. We are getting a lot of projects done and I have so much fun working with you. I love you dearly and I’m soooo glad you are my fiancee. You fit me perfectly and completely and with nearly three months in I can’t imagine life without you. You are my dream girl and I couldn’t be happier with our new life together.
Reflection:
First, I wouldn’t recommend most relationships become engaged by three months and normally I wouldn’t think of it, but this woman reflected my soul. When she spoke I understood her with a clarity that I had never felt before. She is on my level like no-one I’ve ever met… I had prayed for this woman, and from the day I met her until this very day I stand amazed that God would love me enough to answer those prayers so perfectly. You can say that this sounds like new love, and I agree, it was new love, and that new love continues to this day, and I pray it continues until the day I meet the Lord. I love my Pixie and I still can’t imagine life without her.
